Started out the night by catching an acoustic set by my new favorite band, Shotgun Showdown. They were missing their bass player, but the songs translate very nicely in an acoustic setting. A sign of great songwriting! They are playing next tuesday at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. Don't miss 'em!
Duo, The Cartographers, opened with a solid set of electronic-fused dream pop. Great melodies and harmonies, nice sequencing and programmed drums beats textured with the organic warmth of guitars and voice. Really nice stuff.
