So, yeah. It's Tuesday night, a "school night", so-to-speak. Four bands (I think...) at The Prospector, and first band goes on at 11pm. Really? Maybe I'm just old, but that seems really late for the first act to go on.

In any case, first up with an acoustic set by The Year Zero, or rather two of them, Lili De La Mora and Rodney Sellars, playing a fantastic set of dream pop a la My Bloody Valentine and Go-Betweens. I was blown away. Great songs and harmonies. Can't wait to see them as a whole band.

Putting this together has been an amazing learning experience about the music scene in Long Beach and Orange County.

One of my favorite bands, Mission Of Burma has a new release dropping October 6, 2009, entitled "The Sound The Speed The Light".
